The decorative coating should only be applied to a high-quality surface. The surface must be solid, dry, and free from efflorescence, dust, dirt, oil, and grease. Previously painted surfaces should be cleaned of any peeling material and sanded. Areas affected by mold or moss should be thoroughly cleaned mechanically and treated with BIOZIDGRUND primer (TM "ELF") or other specialized agents.
Apply QUARTZ PRIMER or QUARZGRUND (TM "ELF") to the prepared surface and allow it to dry completely (Fig. 1). Then, apply the first layer of the material with a stainless steel trowel, distributing it evenly across the surface to the grain size (Fig. 2). After complete drying of the first layer (8-12 hours), apply the second layer in the same manner.

When the second layer is slightly dry (15-20 minutes), scratch it with a narrow metal trowel, preferably in a horizontal direction, to achieve the characteristic travertine vein effect (Fig. 3). Before it fully dries, polish the surface with a stainless steel trowel (Fig. 4). Before applying the decorative layer, it is recommended to prime the surface with VINILGRUND D-14 (TM "ELF"). This facilitates the finishing layer application and helps prevent joint stains.

For decorative and protective layers in interiors, it is recommended to use finishing materials such as DECOR WAX, DECOR WAX TOSCANA, or VINTAGE (Fig. 5, 6).

It is also possible to apply a pre-colored TRAVERTINO STYLE base with subsequent finishing treatments to create additional effects. For modern finishes, AZURE chameleon lacquers or SPECIAL WAX metallic waxes can be used. To enhance the protective layer, VARNISH PROTECT is recommended.
For facade applications, it is advised to use AQUABARRIERE waterproofing primer (TM "ELF"), followed by VINTAGE glaze to create a patina effect.
