The decorative coating should be applied only to a high-quality substrate. The surface must be strong, dry, and free of efflorescence, dust, dirt, oil, and grease. Previously painted surfaces should be cleaned of old peeling material and sanded with sandpaper. Areas affected by mold or moss should be thoroughly cleaned mechanically and treated with BIOZIDGRUND primer (TM "ELF") or other specialized products. Apply QUARTZ PRIMER or QUARZGRUND (TM "ELF") to the prepared surface (Fig. 1) and wait for it to dry completely.
Pour water into a plastic container at a ratio of 30-35% of the total weight of the dry TRAVERTINO VENEZIANO. If necessary, add the chosen pigment to the water and mix it thoroughly before adding the dry TRAVERTINO VENEZIANO mix. Stir the product with a mixer until a uniform consistency is achieved, then let it sit for 30 minutes. After this time, mix again with a mixer for 2-3 minutes, and the material will be ready for application. Coloring can also be done by adding the pigment to the already mixed TRAVERTINO VENEZIANO before the final mixing.
IMPORTANT: The color of the mixed but not yet applied product becomes lighter over time. Therefore, TRAVERTINO VENEZIANO must be used on the same day, and any leftover material should not be kept for the next day!
Apply the first layer of material with a stainless steel trowel, distributing it evenly across the surface to the size of the grain (Fig. 2). After the first layer has dried completely (12-16 hours), apply the second layer in the same manner. When the second layer is slightly dry (5-10 minutes), scrape it with a narrow metal spatula, preferably in a horizontal direction, without smoothing or compacting the surface to achieve the layered travertine effect (Fig. 3).
Before the surface dries completely, compact it with a stainless steel trowel (Fig. 4). Before applying the decorative layer, it is recommended to prime the surface with VINILGRUND D-14 (TM "ELF"). This will facilitate the application of the finishing layer and prevent joint stains.
As a decorative and protective finish for interiors, various final materials are recommended: DECOR WAX, DECOR WAX TOSCANA, or VINTAGE (Fig. 5, 6). It is also possible to apply a pre-tinted TRAVERTINO VENEZIANO base, followed by finishing treatments to create additional effects. For modern finishes, chameleon lacquers AZURE or metallic waxes SPECIAL WAX can be used. To enhance the protective coating for interior work, it is recommended to use VARNISH PROTECT.

For facade work, the use of AQUABARRIERE (TM "ELF") waterproofing primer is recommended. For further decoration, patination, and the creation of a protective water-repellent layer, VINTAGE glaze or DECOR WAX facade wax should be applied.
