The surface must be clean, dry, flat, load-bearing and meet the preparation conditions in accordance with the requirements. Contamination and substances that negatively affect adhesion must be removed, and irregularities or chips must be leveled with appropriate materials.
“Elfloor Epoxy Primer” is a two-component product. Component A is a modified epoxy resin, Component B is an aqueous dispersion of modified polyamides, carbonate filler, functional additives.
The components are mixed in a ratio of 1:2 (by weight) immediately before use. Component A is added to the container with component B, after which the mixture is mixed using a hand mixer or a mechanical mixer at low speed until completely homogeneous. If necessary, water is added to adjust the viscosity and mixed again.
ATTENTION! During storage, component A (epoxy resin) has a tendency to cloud and crystallize. In this case, before use, the container with component A must be placed in a water bath at a temperature of 50-60 °C until the crystals are completely melted and the resin is homogenized.
Application is carried out with a brush, roller or spatula in an even layer. If necessary, "Elfloor Epoxy Primer" can be used to glue a woven reinforcing glass mesh, with a density of 90-160 g/m2, for which the glass mesh is placed on the newly applied layer, carefully smoothed with a brush or spatula, after which an additional layer of "Elfloor Epoxy Primer" is applied to fully cover the glass mesh with soil. The glass mesh must be glued joint to joint, avoiding overlapping layers. If the base is strong enough, or previously reinforced, there is no need to use the mesh.
If it is necessary to give the primer layer the necessary roughness, it is recommended to add 0.2 mm quartz sand to the ready-to-use mixture of components A and B in an amount of 20-25% of the mixture weight, mix thoroughly, and then apply in the usual way.
