Before use, the bottle with pigment concentrate must be shaken thoroughly until a homogeneous consistency is obtained, and after use, tightly closed so that lumps or films do not form when the paste dries.
Add the required amount of Decotoner dye to the material intended for tinting and stir until a homogeneous consistency. For convenience and accurate dosing of the required amount of dye, we recommend using a medical syringe. After mixing, you must make sure that the paste is evenly
distributed throughout the entire volume of the material, especially in the “dead zones” of the container near the bottom. If the material needs to be diluted before use,
its tinting must be carried out in its original, undiluted state. Before tinting products containing organic solvents, they must be checked for
compatibility. It is recommended to carry out a test application and check the color match after drying.
The type and amount of pigment concentrates are selected according to the catalogs of decorative coatings of TM ELF DECOR, which contain color formulations under natural samples of coatings, based on the specified number of cubic centimeters (cc) per 1 kg of material. Depending on the conditions and application technique, a deviation in shade and color saturation is possible within ±10%.
Depending on the type of material being tinted, a maximum of 10% by weight of "DECOTONER" can be added. To obtain light shades, a smaller amount of pigment paste should be used.
To calculate the consumption of pigment concentrates, it is recommended to follow the following examples:
- When adding 1 bottle of tinting paste (20 ml) to 1 liter of paint, you will get a dye concentration of 2%.
- When adding 1 bottle of tinting paste (20 ml) to 10 liters of paint, you will get a dye concentration of 0.2%.
