Application technologies

The substrate must be clean, solid, and dry, free of dust and efflorescence. All contaminants should be removed mechanically. If damaged, the surface must be restored using appropriate materials. If necessary, treat the surface with suitable solutions to eliminate mold and growth. New concrete surfaces must be cured for 28 days before further application. The concrete moisture content should not exceed 4%, the class should be at least M300 (B25), and the cement slurry must be removed.

When applying to OSB boards, the base must consist of two layers, with the second layer overlapping the joints of the first. All joints must be filled, and the surface should be pre-sanded to remove the wax layer.

When applying to old tiles or similar substrates with joints, the joints must be pre-filled with a layer of ELFLOOR BASE and allowed to dry completely.

Before applying the first layer of ELFLOOR BASE, the surface should be primed with quartz primer QUARZGRUND. Absorbent alkaline substrates, such as concrete or cement screed, must be treated with VinylGrund D-14 primer beforehand.

To the pre-colored compound, add the required amount of ELFLOOR HARDENER Gloss at a ratio of 30:1 by weight. Then mix thoroughly with a mixer.

The finished mixture should be applied with a plastic or metal trowel in an even layer to the grain thickness. On long sections of the floor, use reinforcing mesh with a density of 120–160 g/m². Lay the mesh onto the fresh ELFLOOR BASE layer and cover it with a second layer of material.

Alternatively, the mesh can be glued using the two-component ELFLOOR EPOXY PRIMER. After the primer has dried, ELFLOOR BASE can be applied in two coats, allowing each to dry completely.

If necessary, apply an additional layer after the previous one is fully dry.

Before applying the next layers, lightly sand the dried coating with 80-grit sandpaper to remove small burrs, then dust the surface.
